This was a film that snuck up on me, and I guess a lot of other people. When the trailer for this came out, having heard nothing about it beforehand, I got excited for the film, and watching the film, I had a great time with it.

Rambo: Last Blood Review
I won’t beat around the bush here, I hated this film. I went into this wanting to see something more mature and reflective about the character of John Rambo, something along the lines of Rocky Balboa or the Creed films which would give another one of Sylvester Stallone’s iconic characters a fitting end. What I… Continue reading Rambo: Last Blood Review
The Goldfinch Review
This film is one that I didn’t really have any expectations for. I hadn’t read the book it was based on and I haven’t seen any of the previous films of director John Crowley. I have seen films written by the same person who wrote this film, but considering the last film he wrote was… Continue reading The Goldfinch Review
Ad Astra Review
This film has been on my radar for a while. I am a big fan of this kind of sci-fi film and the trailers have sold this as an intelligent, thought provoking sci-fi film. I was expecting something that would impress me on a visual level and would be a good sci-fi film. I wasn’t… Continue reading Ad Astra Review
Hustlers Review
Now this film wasn’t really on my radar. I’d heard bits about it but the general marketing didn’t really sell the film to me. However, once it started playing the festivals I heard great reviews for this so I decided to give it a look and I’m glad I did. This is a well made… Continue reading Hustlers Review
Downton Abbey Review

Sure it’s silly and the storylines, especially in the later series, were complete nonsense, but I still have fun whenever I watch Downton Abbey. So when the film was announced, I was intrigued, but there was always the question of whether… Continue reading Downton Abbey Review
It: Chapter 2 Review
The first part of this adaptation of It was a very pleasant surprise. Whilst I hadn’t read the book or seen the original miniseries, I knew it by reputation and I didn’t have the highest hopes for the film. However, it ended up being a very effective horror film, buoyed by a strong young cast… Continue reading It: Chapter 2 Review
Hail Satan? Review
I’m not what you would call a religious person. I did attend Catholic schools when I was younger but I haven’t been to church in over 10 years. There are aspects of religion that are intriguing though and religion has become more prevalent in politics in recent years, particularly with the prominence of the Christian… Continue reading Hail Satan?
